More than 80 energy facilities in the Middle East region have been damaged as a result of the war. Over one-third of these facilities have suffered severe destruction.
The editorial office reports that the head of the International Energy Agency stated that the scale of damage to oil fields, oil refineries, and energy terminals is extremely large. Even if the war ends immediately, the normalization of energy supply will take up to two years.
Fatih Birol called this situation "the biggest energy security threat in history." He also noted that the current crisis could lead to increased investments in renewable energy sources and nuclear energy.
