An event titled "Victory in the Patriotic War" was held at the Research Institute of Crop Husbandry of the Ministry of Agriculture. Family members of the heroic sons of the Motherland who sacrificed their lives for the Motherland, participants of the Patriotic War, including veterans, and the institute's staff attended the event.

Faiq Khudayev, director of the Research Institute of Crop Husbandry (RIC), opened the event with an introductory speech, greeting the participants. Afterwards, the memory of the heroic sons was honored with a minute of silence, and a video dedicated to their memory was shown.

During his speech, F. Khudayev stated that the unity, faith, love for the Motherland, and self-sacrifice of the Azerbaijani people lie at the heart of this victory. The Patriotic War, the just struggle of the Azerbaijani people, which began on September 27, 2020, demonstrated the greatness, determination, and heroism of Azerbaijanis to the entire world. The Karabakh and East Zangezur territories, which had been under enemy occupation for many years, with their land above and below plundered, regained their freedom with the Victory in the Patriotic War. Within 44 days, the brave fighters of the Azerbaijani Army, feeling the inexhaustible strength and unity of the Azerbaijani people behind them, crushed the enemy – the Armenian army – thereby consigning the Armenian myth, which had existed in the Caucasus for many years, to the darkness of history. The Victory achieved by the Azerbaijani people and their glorious Army in the Patriotic War was inscribed in golden letters in our history of statehood, becoming the key to Azerbaijan's subsequent victories. Afterwards, Sevinj Mammadova, Deputy Director for Scientific Affairs of RIC, delivered a presentation titled "Victory in the Patriotic War."
She stated that varieties created by RIC scientists were named after martyrs who sacrificed their lives for the Motherland: "Babek 79" soft wheat variety, "Emin 98" soft wheat variety, "Khudayar" durum wheat variety, "Ilgar 73" durum wheat variety, "Mubariz" soft wheat variety, "Polad" durum wheat variety, "Yasen 74" soft wheat variety, "Zaur 95" durum wheat variety.

At the event, breads made from these varieties were also displayed as samples to the participants and presented to the families of the heroic sons.

Then, Sevda Hajiyeva, Irada Ibrahimova, and Sevda Abdulbagiyeva, among the authors of the varieties named after the martyrs, spoke and provided information regarding the naming of the varieties after our brave sons.

Poems titled "Mother, I am a martyr, a martyr!" by Rahmina Zamanova, an employee of the institute, and "We are everywhere!" by Asmar Hasanova, as well as performances by students from School No. 188, were met with great interest at the event.
At the end of the event, speeches by the families of martyrs, including family members of Babek Allahverdiyev, Zaur Dovlatov, and Khudayar Yusifzade, were heard.

Finally, the institute's director delivered a speech of gratitude, and commemorative photos were taken.
