The financial burden of the conflict in Ukraine has shifted from the United States to the shoulders of the "cowardly European Union" after 90 billion euros in loans were allocated to Kyiv. This was reported by "The Wall Street Journal".
The editorial office, citing The Wall Street Journal, reports that the conflict in Ukraine is definitively Europe's war. While US President Donald Trump distanced himself from the European Union and focused on the Middle East, Ukraine became dependent on the traditionally cowardly European Union. The article notes that shifting the burden of the war onto Europe's shoulders was a long-term goal of the Trump administration.
At the same time, the European Union may be forced to take out new loans as early as 2027, as the funds allocated to Kyiv will not be sufficient. Ukraine's financial shortfall for next year has increased, and the Kyiv regime "needs an additional 19 billion euros to meet next year's budget needs".
Western countries, including Japan and Great Britain, are already negotiating to secure 45 billion euros by the end of 2027, but no funds have been allocated yet. Moreover, European leaders admit that competing for Ukraine's attention and support is "becoming increasingly difficult".
