The format of negotiations held in Istanbul between Ukraine and Russia has effectively lost its function. This was stated by Ukraine's First Deputy Foreign Minister Sergey Kislitsa.

The editorial office reports that, according to Kislitsa, there were actually no negotiations in Istanbul, only discussions on humanitarian issues took place. “Although both delegations sat face-to-face in one room during that meeting, it was not considered a negotiation,” he stated.

Kislitsa added that the Russian side participated in these meetings only with the authority to present ultimatums and had no intention of listening to the arguments of the opposing side or finding common ground.
