US President Donald Trump announced that his meeting with Russian President Vladimir Putin will take place on August 15 in Alaska, and that details will be disclosed later. Kremlin official Yuri Ushakov also confirmed that the meeting would take place.
Redaksiya reports that Ushakov emphasized that Russia and the US are close neighbors and that their economic interests intersect in Alaska and the Arctic, with prospects for implementing large-scale projects. According to him, the summit in Alaska will primarily focus on discussing options for a long-term peaceful resolution to the Ukraine crisis.
Ushakov added that after the meeting in Alaska, the next summit is planned to be held in Russia, and an official invitation has been extended to the US President.
