US President Donald Trump announced his support for a proposed trilateral meeting in Istanbul with Russian President Vladimir Putin and Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky.
The editorial office reports that Trump confirmed such a meeting would take place, adding: “It will happen. But this meeting should have been held three months ago.”
Trump's statement indicates that Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan's initiative to bring the leaders together in Istanbul has entered the real political agenda.
Economic statement from Trump: overpaid taxes will be refunded
In an interview with Axios, Trump also announced that overpaid taxes would be refunded to American taxpayers with the revenues obtained from customs tariffs implemented this year. This step aims to reduce inflation in the domestic market and strengthen public support ahead of the elections.
Harsh statement about Hamas: “They just want to die”
Trump also touched upon the ongoing conflict between Israel and Hamas, making a harsh statement: “Hamas does not want an agreement with Israel. I think they just want to die.”
These statements by the President are seen as an indication that US support for Israel will continue and a tough stance against Hamas's position will be maintained.
