Former US President Donald Trump filed a defamation lawsuit on Friday against media mogul Rupert Murdoch and The Wall Street Journal newspaper. The lawsuit was filed after The Wall Street Journal published a report on Thursday claiming that Trump wrote a suggestive birthday letter in 2003 to Jeffrey Epstein, who faced sexual abuse charges.

Redaksiya reports that Trump is seeking at least $10 billion in damages with this lawsuit. Court documents state that The Wall Street Journal's report was "false, biased, and intentionally damaging." The report contained unsubstantiated claims regarding Trump's connections to Epstein. Trump's lawyers stated that this report seriously harmed his reputation and negatively impacted his image among voters.

The court proceedings are regarded as a continuation of Trump's relationship with the media during his political career. Trump has frequently accused media outlets of being biased against him and blamed them for spreading "fake news." This lawsuit can be seen as the next stage in Trump's battle with the media. Rupert Murdoch's "News Corp" company owns The Wall Street Journal newspaper and also controls several other media organizations.

This incident indicates increasing tension between the media and politics. The outcome of the lawsuit could affect both Trump's political career and the reputation of media organizations.
