New state standards will enable increased energy efficiency, optimized operational costs, and reduced negative environmental impacts in telecommunication networks.

New state standards, including AZS ITU-T L.1330:2025 – “Measurement and indicators of energy efficiency for telecommunication networks” and AZS ITU-T G 827:2025 “Performance parameters and requirements for international end-to-end constant bit rate digital transmission lines,” have been adopted by the Azerbaijan Standardization Institute (AZSTAND), which is subordinate to the State Antimonopoly and Consumer Market Control Agency under the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan.

These standards provide a technical basis for determining, comparing, and optimizing the energy consumption indicators of equipment in mobile and fixed networks, and ensure the parameters of transmission lines. Thus, the application of these state standards will enable communication operators to efficiently manage energy consumption, reduce operational costs, and minimize negative environmental impacts.

The new state standards were adopted on a consensus basis by the Technical Committee for Standardization of “Information and Communication Technologies” (AZSTAND/TK 05) and included in the State Fund of Normative Documents on Standardization.

Note: The new state standards AZS ITU-T L.1330:2025 – “Measurement and indicators of energy efficiency for telecommunication networks” and AZS ITU-T G 827:2025 “Performance parameters and requirements for international end-to-end constant bit rate digital transmission lines” were prepared based on the recommendations of the International Telecommunication Union (ITU).
