A very cunning scheme has spread on Telegram that deprives users of their accounts. Just pressing the “Start” button once is enough for your account to be permanently blocked.
The editorial office reports that the fraud scheme works as follows:
- The user inadvertently clicks the “Start” button on an unknown bot.
- Scammers change the bot's name to an official-sounding one, such as “Telegram Wallet” or “Support Bot”.
- The bot's administrative rights are transferred to the user – that is, you – and mass complaints are initiated in your name.
- Telegram identifies you as the bot's owner and immediately blocks your account.
- Your account is deleted from the system, and there is no possibility to restore it.
Never press the “Start” button on bots you don't know, even if it seems very interesting, do not take the risk.
