The Royal Thai Navy has launched a new operation near the Cambodian border, involving naval and air forces. Information about the operation was disclosed by the command of the Border Protection Forces of Tratt province.
The editorial reports that the warship HTMS Thepa has been sent to the region as part of the "Trat Destroys the Enemy" operation and is conducting continuous patrol and reconnaissance activities. The navy has warned fishermen not to operate near the maritime border with Cambodia.
Previously, increased tension between Cambodia and Thailand was reported. On December 8, the Royal Thai Air Force struck positions of the Cambodian Armed Forces with F-16 fighter jets. This operation was carried out in response to Cambodia shelling Thai military facilities and resulted in the death of one Thai soldier and injuries to four others.
