A final educational training and award ceremony was organized within the framework of the project "Protect Your Safety on Social Media!", implemented by the Public Union "Support for Innovative Initiatives" with the financial support of the State Agency for Support to Non-Governmental Organizations of the Republic of Azerbaijan.
The main goal of the project is to increase digital literacy among youth, create a safe online environment, and foster a culture of responsible technology use.
At the event, Aytac Karimova, Chairwoman of the Public Union "Support for Innovative Initiatives", spoke, emphasizing the project's role in educating youth about digital threats. She noted that the project not only equips young people with knowledge and skills in cybersecurity but also develops their responsible behavior in the online space.
Within the framework of the training, an interactive session on "The History and Basic Concepts of Cryptography" was conducted by Abbas Panahov. Participants were provided with detailed information on the fundamental principles of cybersecurity and the importance of cryptography in the modern era.
About the University of London's "Fundamentals of Cybersecurity" course
After the training, participants who successfully completed the online course "Fundamentals of Cybersecurity," offered on the Coursera platform by the University of London, one of the world's top 10 and oldest and most prestigious federal higher education institutions, were awarded certificates. This course is designed for anyone with general knowledge in the field of information and communication technologies and provided fundamental knowledge about the basic concepts of cybersecurity (the essence and importance of cybersecurity, the role of cryptography, and security management).
The award ceremony was organized to celebrate the successful outcomes of the project and the achievements of the participants. The project "Protect Your Safety on Social Media!" served the purpose of ensuring the safety of young people in the digital world, developing their skills in responsible technology use, and creating a safe online environment in society.
