Some parts of the Tianjin Declaration, adopted at the summit of the heads of state of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO), have been released to the press by the Ministry of External Affairs of India.

The editorial office reports that the declaration confirms that member states have agreed on the establishment of an SCO Development Bank. The document also reflects a number of key provisions.

The declaration recalls that 2025 will mark the 80th anniversary of the victory over fascism and militarism in World War II, emphasizing the preservation of the heroic memory of peoples and the importance of not forgetting historical lessons. Member states note the unique role of the UN in ensuring peace and security, and declare their support for the organization's central position in forming a more just and multipolar international system.

The document specifically emphasizes the foundational role the SCO can play in building an equal and indivisible security architecture in the Eurasian space. In this context, attention is drawn to the relevance of the “Eurasian Diversity and Multipolarity Charter” initiative.

Member states declare their support for the idea of “One Earth. One Family. One Future” based on the principles of mutual respect, justice, equality, and beneficial cooperation. They call on the international community to join the initiative “Global Unity for a Just World, Harmony, and Development”.

The Tianjin Declaration strongly condemns all forms and manifestations of terrorism. The inadmissibility of double standards is emphasized, and the central role of the UN in combating terrorism is demanded. In this regard, the full implementation of UN Security Council resolutions and the Global Counter-Terrorism Strategy is considered vital.

The document also emphasizes that Central Asia is the core of the SCO, expressing support for the efforts of regional states to maintain peace, stability, and security in the region.
