Arabs Filming Inappropriate Videos at Alley of Martyrs Sentenced

The court proceedings have concluded for three citizens of Saudi Arabia (Alzaman Mahdi Ali, Alghabr Mohammad Hussain, Alghabr Mahdi Mohammad) who were detained by the police for engaging in inappropriate behavior at the Alley of Martyrs and sharing the resulting video footage on social media.

Today, the verdict was read at a hearing presided over by Judge Azer Taghiyev at the Sabail District Court.

According to the verdict, Alzaman Mahdi Ali, Alghabr Mohammad Hussain, and Alghabr Mahdi Mohammad have each been sentenced to 2 years of imprisonment. They will serve their sentences in a general regime correctional facility.

The accused individuals will be forcibly expelled from the country after serving their sentences.

It should be noted that the prosecutor had requested a 4-year prison sentence for all three defendants.

On August 17, investigations were conducted regarding a video showing three foreign nationals engaging in inappropriate behavior at the Alley of Martyrs.

During the investigations, it was determined that these individuals had arrived in Baku as tourists on August 13 for a 5-day stay and had disseminated the video they filmed on social media.

A criminal case was initiated under Article 245 (Insulting actions over a grave) of the Criminal Code. (APA)
