Today is the birthday of National Hero Mubariz Ibrahimov.
The editorial office reports that M. Ibrahimov was born on February 7, 1988, in the village of Aliabad, Bilasuvar district.
He graduated from Aliabad village secondary school named after M. Piriyev in 2005 and was called up for active military service in the same year. He served in the Special Purpose Unit of the "N" military unit of the Internal Troops. He completed his active military service in 2007 with the rank of sergeant. After working in civilian jobs for some time, he rejoined the service in August 2009 with the rank of ensign. He voluntarily began serving in one of the military units in the front-line zone.
On the night of June 18-19, 2010, Ensign M. Ibrahimov single-handedly crossed a one-kilometer minefield between two armies and eliminated several Armenian armed forces soldiers and officers. He then fought alone with them for 5 hours, using the enemy's own weapons against them. The Azerbaijani fighter heroically became a martyr in an unequal battle in the morning hours.
By the order of the President of Azerbaijan, Mubariz Agakerim oglu Ibrahimov was awarded the title of "National Hero of Azerbaijan" (posthumously).
