Pakistan welcomes the historic peace agreement signed between Azerbaijan and Armenia at the summit held in the White House with the participation of US President Donald Trump.
This was stated by Pakistan's Prime Minister Shahbaz Sharif on his "X" social media account.
It is noted that this event marks the beginning of a new era of peace, stability, and cooperation in the South Caucasus, a region that has experienced decades of conflict and human suffering.
"We congratulate President Ilham Aliyev and the people of Azerbaijan on this historic agreement, which reflects wisdom and foresight in determining the peaceful future course of their region. Pakistan has always stood by the brotherly people of Azerbaijan, and we stand with them at this glorious moment in their history.
We also highly appreciate the mediation role under the leadership of US President Donald Trump, which enabled both sides to reach an agreement opening new opportunities for trade, connectivity, and regional integration. We hope that this spirit of dialogue will serve as an example for other regions facing protracted conflicts," Shahbaz Sharif emphasized.
