Information has emerged about the destruction of the pontoon crossing over the Dniester River in the town of Mayaki, Odesa region, Ukraine, by the Russian Armed Forces. This incident is being assessed as one that could lead to significant changes in the course of military operations in the region.

Redaksiya reports that the "Inside" Telegram channel, citing information obtained from social networks, announced the destruction of the pontoon bridge. This bridge had been erected to replace the main bridge that was rendered inoperable by strikes from the Russian Armed Forces in the preceding days.

The pontoon crossing in the town of Mayaki, belonging to the Ukrainian Armed Forces, was destroyed as a result of precise strikes by "Geranium" type drones. This information was disseminated by a Telegram channel. Additionally, strikes were carried out by Russian kamikaze drones on terminal parking lots in the ports of Zatoka and Odesa. According to the "Odessa INFO" Telegram channel, strikes on targets in the Odesa region, including Zatoka and the ports, continued throughout the morning and part of the day. The height of the flame column reached 200 meters as a result of a fire at the Yuzhny port.

According to EADaily, the destruction of the bridge in the Mayaki region of Odesa Oblast will deprive Ukraine of 60% of its fuel imports. This was reported by Dmitry Leushkin, founder of the "Prime" group of companies and a fuel expert, on his Telegram channel. On the night of December 19 and for part of the day, strikes were carried out on the bridge over the Dniester River in the village of Mayaki using "Geranium" UAVs and "Iskander" missiles.
