Disinformation characterized by dubious sources and a lack of reflection of reality, aimed at damaging the strategic alliance relations between Azerbaijan and Turkey, has been spread on the Russian-speaking segment of the internet, originating from the "Tsargrad.tv" resource.
The editorial office reports that the Media Development Agency (MEDIA) has issued a statement regarding this matter.
"We strongly condemn and emphasize the unacceptability of such disinformation activities that are directed against Azerbaijan, attempt to mislead public opinion with false and manipulative content, and serve to target the existing brotherhood and alliance relations between Azerbaijan and Turkey. We call on Azerbaijani and Turkish journalists, as well as media entities, to take a principled stance against such disinformation attempts, refrain from spreading unverified information, and act responsibly in protecting the information environment."
MEDIA called on the public of both countries not to believe false information and to rely solely on statements from official bodies.
"The Agency will continue to effectively cooperate with the Directorate of Communications of the Presidency of Turkey to prevent such incidents and to form a unified stance," the statement noted.
