First, the dear memory of National Leader Heydar Aliyev and our martyrs who sacrificed their lives for the territorial integrity and independence of the Republic of Azerbaijan was commemorated with a minute of silence.
Speaking at the meeting, the head of the executive power spoke about the 44-day Patriotic War, the Anti-Terror Operation, and the Victory Day, which we celebrate its 5th anniversary this year. He brought to attention that the victory achieved was thanks to the far-sighted policy of National Leader Heydar Aliyev, the strong and purposeful leadership of President Ilham Aliyev, who worthily continues this political legacy, as well as the heroism of our martyrs and veterans. Rajab Rahimli noted that after the 44-day Patriotic War, Azerbaijan's international prestige has further increased, and our country's word is valid in the region and the world. He spoke about the large-scale construction work carried out in Karabakh and East Zangazur for the return and resettlement of IDPs to their native lands.
The strategic and economic importance of opening the Zangazur corridor was also discussed at the meeting. It was noted that this project will expand transport and trade links in the region, ensure direct connection of the Nakhchivan Autonomous Republic with the main part of the country, and strengthen economic integration.
Rajab Rahimli also provided information about the work carried out in Ordubad district within the framework of the “State Program for the Socio-Economic Development of the Nakhchivan Autonomous Republic in 2023–2027”. He stated that important steps are being taken towards the construction of road infrastructure, the preparation of water management projects, increasing employment, developing tourism, and restoring historical and architectural monuments. Within this framework, major repairs are currently underway for the historical building “Arbabın iş yeri” in Ordubad city, restoration of “Sərşəhər Mosque” and “Madrasa” building, and work is continuing towards the commencement of landscaping around the house museum and bust of academician Yusif Mammadaliyev.
