Opinions and suggestions put forward during mobile receptions have been taken into account and forwarded to relevant agencies, and urgent measures are being taken towards their resolution. Thus, preparations for the irrigation season and flood protection measures are successfully continuing in Gakh district.

Extensive work has been carried out by the Gakh Water Amelioration Systems Operation Department to bring the irrigation infrastructure in the district into working condition, prevent water loss, and strengthen protection measures against floodwaters.

Currently, the water supply for 21,358 hectares of irrigable cultivated land in the district is provided through complex technological and natural systems. 1,574 hectares of these areas are irrigated using modern irrigation methods (pivot and drip systems), while the remaining 19,784 hectares are irrigated via the district's 7 main river systems (Kürmük, Qapıçay, Zərnə, Ləkit, Qum, Qarasu, Duruca). Water delivery to the fields is ensured through main canals with a length of 92.8 km and on-farm canals with a length of 284.5 km, as well as 98 sub-artesian and 89 artesian wells.

To ensure that vegetation irrigation is carried out within agrotechnical deadlines, current repair works have been completed on 5 hydrotechnical structures, 1 civil production building, and 5 sub-artesian wells during the first 3 months of the current year. Silt removal works totaling 36.75 thousand m³ have been carried out in canals and ditches across the rural administrative territorial districts of Dəymədağlı, Şotavar, Lələli, Oncallı, Almalı, Qorağan, Zəyəm, Qıpçaq, and Əlibəyli. Cleaning and smoothing works have been performed over a total distance of more than 40 km in the Qaysarlı, Qanlı-Qobu, Dəymədağlı, Qorağan, Əmbərçay, Şotavar, Kazbek, İbaxaslan, Qıpçaq, Kötüklü, Cəlayer, Qax-İngiloy, and Ağyerlər canals, regulating the unimpeded flow of water. To protect settlements and cultivated areas from flood risks, cleaning works totaling 94.73 thousand m³ have been carried out in the riverbeds of the Kürmük, Zərnə, and Lahıc rivers.

As part of current repairs, 295 m³ of stone-concrete dams have been constructed in the direction of İbaxlı and Əlibəyli villages (with plans to reach 1200 m³ by the end of the year). In accordance with the major repair plan, the construction of new stone-concrete dams is envisioned in the areas of İbaxlı (200 linear meters), Əlibəyli (150 linear meters), and Ağçay (150 linear meters) villages.

To minimize water loss, it is planned to line a total of 2400 linear meters of the Almalı (250 linear meters), Cəlayer (1500 linear meters), and Qobala-Ağçay (650 linear meters) canals with concrete during 2026.

Currently, the preparation process for vegetation irrigation continues in the district, and all technical resources have been mobilized to ensure an uninterrupted supply of irrigation water to farmers.
