The first Alpaqut seminar and belt proficiency exam for the Alpaqut martial art in 2026 were organized in the Karabakh region.

On January 11, 2026, a zonal seminar was held at the Aghdam Olympic Sports Complex, organized by the Karabakh Regional Representation of the Azerbaijan Alpaqut Federation (AAF).

The seminar began with the performance of the National Anthem of the Republic of Azerbaijan. Following this, the dear memory of National Leader Heydar Aliyev and the martyrs who sacrificed their lives for the Motherland was commemorated with a minute of silence.

Then, AAF Vice-President Kurshad Rafiq Gasimov addressed the athletes, conveying the greetings of the Federation's President, Bashad Tural Abasguli. He specifically emphasized the support provided by the Ministry of Youth and Sports of the Republic of Azerbaijan, as well as the Azerbaijan National Martial Arts Association, for the development of the Alpaqut martial art in Azerbaijan.

During the seminar, detailed information was provided on the fundamental principles of the Alpaqut martial art and the competition rules for the Ayça, Batur, Caymaz, and Qurşaq systems, along with practical explanations. At the end of the event, some athletes took exams for various belt proficiencies in accordance with the classification norms of the Alpaqut martial art.

Alpaqut practitioners from Aghjabadi, Mingachevir, and Lachin districts, including three teams from Aghdam, participated in the seminar. A total of approximately 100 athletes attended the event.

The efforts of Tegin Kenan Guliyev, Chairman of the AAF's Karabakh Regional Representation, in organizing the seminar at a high level were highly appreciated by the Azerbaijan Alpaqut Federation.
