On March 18, an illegal fishing operation using electric current was discovered on the left bank of the Kura River, in the section passing through the administrative territory of the Shamkir district.
The Ministry of Agriculture reported that three residents of Hunanlar village in the Tovuz district, who were engaged in illegal fishing, were apprehended by employees of the Regional Inland Waters Division.
Materials collected regarding all three individuals have been submitted to the Police Department on Water Transport of the Main Police Department on Transport of the Ministry of Internal Affairs, with the aim of compensating for the environmental damage caused by the illegal fishing and taking appropriate measures.
