President of the Republic of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev visited the mulberry garden established on a 13-hectare area in Dashbulag village of Khojaly district on September 15.
The Head of State was informed about the work done.
It was reported that 130,000 seedlings imported from the People's Republic of China have been planted here. A drip irrigation system has been established in the mulberry garden.
It was noted that the production of 100 tons of mulberry leaves is planned for 2026, and 500 tons for 2030. The projected cocoon production is 60 tons over 5 years, starting next year. In October-November of this year, it is planned to implement a drip irrigation system and plant approximately 1.5 million mulberry seedlings on an additional 150-hectare area, establish a mulberry garden based on a cluster model, set up silkworm breeding houses in the vicinity, raise silkworms, produce fresh cocoons, and also carry out the product processing. 25 people have been provided with permanent jobs here. 750 people will be involved in seasonal work.
