OpenAI has announced the completion of initial training for its next major model, Spud. This model is expected to possess powerful capabilities that could significantly accelerate the economy within weeks. According to information provided by the company's leadership, this development is progressing faster than anticipated.

The editorial team reports that against this backdrop, OpenAI has renamed its product organization to AGI Deployment. Simultaneously, Nvidia founder Jensen Huang has shared his views that Artificial General Intelligence (AGI) has already been realized, further strengthening the current development trend.

In order to free up computational power for the new model, OpenAI is halting the OpenAI Sora application and API, and also postponing plans for integrating video functionalities into ChatGPT. Research on Sora is not being halted; instead, it will be directed towards long-term world simulation in the field of robotics.

Furthermore, OpenAI CEO Sam Altman's direct oversight of safety teams has been reduced. Safety matters have been delegated to Chief Financial Officer Mark Chen, and the safety direction to President Greg Brockman. This will allow Altman to focus on attracting large-scale funding, supply chains, and the construction of data centers.
