Today, February 26th, is the date of the atrocities and crimes against humanity committed by Armenian-Russian military formations and terrorists against the civilian population in Khojaly.
The genocide committed in the city of Khojaly on February 26, 1992, is one of the most heinous crimes perpetrated against the Azerbaijani people. This atrocity against the civilian population was a gross violation of international humanitarian law.
The Azerbaijani state has demonstrated a consistent and principled stance in conveying the truths of Khojaly to the world community. As repeatedly emphasized by the President, Victorious Supreme Commander-in-Chief Ilham Aliyev, historical justice had to be restored, and it was.
Today, Khojaly is the sovereign territory of Azerbaijan. As a result of our state's decisive policy and the valor of our Army, the territorial integrity and sovereignty of our country have been fully ensured. Large-scale restoration and construction work is being carried out in the liberated lands, and life is returning.
The dear memory of our martyrs will always be honored. Their blood was not spilled in vain.
