The Head of Neftçala District Executive Power held an on-site meeting with the residents of Sahiloba village.
The reception for citizens was attended by Mirhəsən Seyidov, Head of Neftçala District Executive Power, responsible officials of the DXP, heads of law enforcement agencies, departments, enterprises, and organizations, families of martyrs, veterans, and village residents.
First, the memory of National Leader Heydar Aliyev and military personnel martyred during the defense of the territorial integrity, independence, and constitutional order of the Republic of Azerbaijan was honored with a minute of silence.
The representative for the Sarigamish rural administrative district spoke, providing extensive information about Sahiloba village to the meeting participants.
Speakers provided detailed information to the participants on the topic “Western Azerbaijan, our ancient historical homeland, is the land of our rich national and cultural heritage.” It was stated that, according to historical sources, Azerbaijanis living in Western Azerbaijan were the founders of the cultural environment that formed there over millennia. Regions such as Urmia, Tabriz, Goycha, Zangazur, and Iravan (Yerevan) were not only physical geographies but also centers where Azerbaijani music, poetry, architecture, and folk art developed. Extensive information was given to the participants about famous ashugs, poets, scholars, and artisans who were born in these lands and enriched our national identity with their creativity.
In his speech, Mirhəsən Seyidov, Head of Neftçala District Executive Power, stated that Western Azerbaijan is a sacred homeland where the Azerbaijani people have lived and created for centuries, distinguished by its rich historical and cultural heritage. This territory is not just a geographical space but also a corner of our homeland that has left indelible marks on the memory of our people and has been a bearer of our culture, architecture, and national values.
The Head of the District Executive Power also drew special attention to Western Azerbaijan's richness in architectural monuments. He noted that Iravan (Yerevan) Fortress, Blue Mosque, Sardar Palace, ancient madrasahs, bridges, and caravanserais preserve the living traces of Azerbaijani culture in these lands to this day. Unfortunately, as a result of political events that occurred from time to time, there have been attempts to appropriate and destroy this heritage. However, our people never forget the historical and moral value of these monuments. Even today, the topic of Western Azerbaijan holds a special place in the memory of every Azerbaijani. Our compatriots, born there and displaced from their ancestral lands, eagerly await the day they will return to their native lands under the leadership of the Victorious Commander-in-Chief, President Mr. Ilham Aliyev.
The Head of the DXP stated that against the backdrop of new geopolitical realities emerging in the region after the 44-day Patriotic War, which ended in victory, the continuation of the Victorious Commander-in-Chief Ilham Aliyev's concept of restoring historical justice is to ensure the Great Return of internally displaced persons and refugees. He also spoke about the importance of the mission to restore the national-moral values and rights of the Azerbaijani people. He emphasized that the Victorious Commander-in-Chief Mr. Ilham Aliyev gave serious instructions in this regard during his meeting with members of the Western Azerbaijan Community. He also noted that the position demonstrated by the country's leader towards restoring the rights of the Azerbaijani people and recognizing the rights of the Western Azerbaijan Community at an international level places serious tasks before historians and lawyers.
The Head of Neftçala DXP informed the meeting participants about the reconstruction works carried out in Neftçala district.
During the on-site reception, citizens raised their appeals regarding the repair of internal roads, the renewal of the electricity infrastructure, and other issues. Citizens' appeals were heard individually, issues were discussed, and relevant instructions were given for their resolution.
Citizens expressed their gratitude to the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan, Mr. Ilham Aliyev, and First Vice-President Mehriban Aliyeva for the high attention and care shown, as well as for the landscaping and construction works carried out in the district.
