Portuguese specialist Jose Mourinho drew attention to realistic goals for Fenerbahçe regarding the Champions League.
The editorial office reports that in a statement to the “ElDesmarque” portal, Mourinho stated that Fenerbahçe's participation in the Champions League would be economically beneficial, but it would be difficult to compete at a sporting level in this tournament:
“The Champions League is a completely different world... We must be realistic. If we go there, it would be great economically, but at a sporting level, Fenerbahçe is a Europa League team.”
Mourinho's words are regarded as a frank assessment of the club's goals and current level. He also emphasized the importance of progressing step-by-step for the team's development.
