Next Special Session of the National Business Development Forum Held

The next special session of the National Business Development Forum was held with the support of the State Agency for Antimonopoly and Consumer Market Control under the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan, and co-organized by the Caspian Energy Club and the Azerbaijan National Business Association. Entrepreneurial entities operating in the fields of food, cargo transportation and logistics, construction, information technologies, and other sectors participated in the event.

Elnur Baghirov, Chairman of the State Agency for Antimonopoly and Consumer Market Control under the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan, as well as Telman Aliyev, Chairman of the Caspian Energy Club and Group CEO, delivered opening speeches at the event. During the speeches, attention was drawn to initiatives aimed at establishing open and constructive partnerships with entrepreneurs, and the role of the business community in strengthening economic sustainability was emphasized.

It was stated that last year, within the framework of this platform, issues arising from the requirements of public procurement and competition legislation were discussed. As a result of proposals put forward by entrepreneurs, the Agency's existing regulatory practice, and discussions held within the meetings of the Working Group on Eliminating Obstacles and Difficulties to Entrepreneurial Activity and Improving the Business Environment, established within the Economic Council of the Republic of Azerbaijan, a project was prepared aimed at improving legislative acts related to public procurement. It was emphasized that the project includes norms for increasing accessibility to public procurement, simplifying procurement procedures, and enhancing competitiveness.

Furthermore, within the framework of the event, extensive information was provided on the steps taken and results achieved in improving the regulatory and legal framework, modernizing infrastructure, and implementing digital solutions in the areas of competition, consumer rights protection, quality, and state assay control.

Within the framework of the Forum, which continued with panel discussions, Jafar Babayev, First Deputy Chairman, Ilgar Hasanov, Deputy Chairman, and Tural Ismayilov, Head of Apparatus of the State Agency for Antimonopoly and Consumer Market Control under the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan, answered entrepreneurs' questions and provided practical explanations regarding proposals related to the Agency's competencies, in terms of their alignment with legislative requirements.
