Endocrinologist and immunologist Gulnara Filatova spoke about the potential dangers of some fruits for health.

Ölkə.az reports that she spoke about this in a statement to "Lenta.ru".

According to her, grapes, bananas, and melon, in particular, should be consumed carefully:

“Usually, fruits are considered a symbol of health, but they don't always provide only benefits. Here, not only nutritional value but also the quantity and the state of the human body play a role.”

The doctor noted that although grapes seem harmless, even just one handful can be a serious burden on the pancreas and liver: "Because grapes contain a large amount of glucose and fructose. This causes a rapid rise in blood sugar and creates a risk for people who are overweight, have diabetes, or prediabetes.”

The endocrinologist also called bananas among the “controversial” fruits:

“Many see bananas as a healthy snack or a substitute for sweets. But in reality, bananas have a high glycemic index, which leads to a rapid rise in blood sugar. In people prone to metabolic disorders and those with a sedentary lifestyle, bananas become a source of excess calories.

Furthermore, because bananas contain a lot of potassium, they can also be dangerous for people with kidney problems.”

The doctor also listed melon among the risky fruits. According to her, melon is often eaten in excess, and this leads to sharp fluctuations in blood glucose:

"In addition, the high water content of melon and its consumption with other products can lead to bloating and digestive discomfort. This is especially pronounced in people with sensitive stomachs or disrupted intestinal microflora.”
