The interval between trains in the metro can be halved

After the separation of the "Green" and "Red" lines is ensured in the Baku Metro, the interval between trains will be minimized.

This was stated by Bakhtiyar Mammadov, head of the institution's Press Service, in a statement to Oxu.Az.

He noted that the necessary infrastructure projects must be implemented for this:

"For this, there is a need to construct turning chambers for trains to turn and return. Turning chambers will be built behind the "Icherisheher" station for the "Red Line", and after the "Khatai" station, at the station conditionally named "Y-15" on the "Purple Line", for trains operating on the "Green Line" to turn. Work related to the "Icherisheher" station has already begun. Once these chambers are built, the interval for trains operating on the "Green" and "Red" lines can be reduced to the technically possible minimum. After the train turning chambers are built and put into operation, the interval between trains operating on the "Red Line" can be reduced by more than half, to 1 minute 30 seconds."

It should be noted that currently, during peak hours, the interval in the mentioned directions is 3 minutes 30 seconds.
