Colombian President Gustavo Petro has made a drastic decision in response to Israel's military operations in Gaza.
The editorial office reports that Petro, as commander-in-chief, has ordered the country's army to block ships carrying coal to Israel. He justified this decision by calling the military operations against Palestinians in Gaza "genocide."
"We will not cooperate with a state that commits genocide," Petro declared.
The Colombian President had previously criticized Israel's actions and had not ruled out freezing diplomatic relations with that country. The new decision indicates a further escalation of relations between the two countries.
