One of the houses that caused the collapse of the 1200 mm diameter wastewater collector, which is on the balance sheet of the United Water Supply Service for Large Cities under the Azerbaijan State Water Resources Agency (ASWRA), has been demolished based on a commission's decision.

The editorial office reports this with reference to ASWRA.

It was reported that an accident occurred in the collector passing through Rashid Bagirov street in Khatai district due to excessive load, causing water to accumulate in the surrounding areas. Intensive work is currently underway to remove water from these areas.

ASWRA Chairman Zaur Mikayilov also regularly visits the area and personally monitors the work being carried out. The agency chairman inspected the situation on site and gave instructions for the incident to be eliminated more quickly, optimally, and safely. In addition, heads of relevant state institutions are also inspecting the area.

The house built over the collector has already been demolished. Employees of the United Water Supply Service for Large Cities under ASWRA are carrying out the repair and restoration of the wastewater collector that collapsed due to overloading. Excavation work is being carried out to remove the soil layer from above the 9-meter deep collector.

Some time ago, a 100-meter section of the 500-millimeter cast iron pipeline remaining under the houses at that address was replaced with a polyethylene pipe and its location changed. The old 100 and 150-millimeter steel pipes remaining under the house in an emergency state were also removed and replaced with new 110 and 160-millimeter diameter polyethylene pipes.

Residents were warned about the increased risk of an accident before the current incident, and they were instructed to vacate the area for the safe execution of repair, construction, and restoration work on the collector.
