A serious data security problem related to iPhone applications published on the App Store has recently come to light. Investigations have determined that numerous applications are sharing sensitive user data with third parties, which has caused widespread concern.

The editorial office reports that, according to Firehound specialists, 196 out of 198 applications available on the App Store have transmitted user data to external parties. The leaked data includes personal information, email addresses, and correspondence history. Specifically, it has been reported that the application named Chat & Ask exposed a total of 406 million records belonging to 18 million users.

Experts emphasize that such incidents pose a serious threat to user privacy. It is noted that the widespread dissemination of data on this scale increases individual security risks and undermines trust in digital platforms.

Against this backdrop, the responsibility of application developers and the necessity of strengthening legislation regarding data protection are coming to the forefront more prominently. Experts advise users to pay attention to permissions when downloading applications, and relevant authorities to tighten oversight mechanisms.
