Rima Gulaliyeva, 49, accused of human trafficking, has been arrested as a result of measures taken by the Main Department for Combating Human Trafficking of the Ministry of Internal Affairs.
Investigations have established that she is accused of committing the crime of human trafficking by subjecting women, citizens of the Republic of Azerbaijan whose identities are kept confidential in a foreign country, to sexual exploitation.
For the purpose of greed, R. Gulaliyeva entered into criminal collusion with members of a transnational organized group, who are citizens of a foreign country, and deceived women, taking them abroad by crossing the state border. The victims were kept under control through threats and coercion, their general passports were taken, and they were subjected to sexual exploitation for money.
The investigation also established that R. Gulaliyeva sold women to male citizens of a foreign country under the guise of marriage in that country for 6,000 and 8,000 US dollars. After that, she took the gold jewelry and other valuable items given as wedding gifts to these women and instructed them to escape.
Based on the collected evidence, R. Gulaliyeva was involved in the investigation as the accused person in the criminal case initiated, and a measure of restraint in the form of detention was chosen by court order. Measures are continuing to identify other members of the transnational organized group.
We once again appeal to citizens, stating that victims of human trafficking crimes can contact the Main Department for Combating Human Trafficking of the Ministry of Internal Affairs or the 152 hotline. The confidentiality of those who apply is fully guaranteed.
