Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Pakistani Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif will meet for the first time since the recent military tensions at the Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO) summit to be held in China.
It is reported that the participation of both leaders at the summit is considered an important step towards restoring dialogue and reducing tensions in the region. Border incidents between India and Pakistan in recent months have once again exacerbated relations between the parties.
Observers state that Modi and Sharif's participation on the same platform could pave the way for future bilateral talks. However, it has not yet been announced whether the parties will hold an official meeting.
Leaders from Russia, China, Central Asian countries, and other member states will also participate in the SCO summit. The main agenda of the event will include issues of regional security, economic cooperation, and coordination in international politics.
