Heydar Aliyev International Airport has once again confirmed its status as the leading airport in the region, earning the prestigious 'Best Airport in Central Asia and the CIS' award at the Skytrax World Airport Awards 2026.

The award was presented during an official ceremony held in London, United Kingdom, as part of the "Passenger Terminal Expo World" (PTE World) exhibition.
The "World Airport Awards" are considered one of the most prestigious international awards in the aviation industry and are determined based on the largest annual independent survey conducted among passengers worldwide. Presented since 1999, these awards are based on large-scale surveys evaluating passenger experience at over 565 airports. Thousands of passengers from various countries participate in the survey, and the results are formed independently, without any influence from the airports.
During the evaluation, all key stages of the passenger experience are taken into account – from check-in, security and passport control, transit zones, shopping and service areas, to the entire service infrastructure up to the boarding process.
The consistent recognition of Heydar Aliyev International Airport with this award is a further confirmation of the airport's developing service standards, sustainable development strategy, and regional leadership position.
