Scientists from the international organization "4 Day Week Global" have determined that switching to a 4-day work week without a reduction in salaries is beneficial for both employees and companies.
The results of the study were announced by "Popular Science".
According to the research, the 4-day work regime significantly reduces stress among employees and increases productivity. At the same time, companies' revenues also rise. In the initial phase of the experiment, conducted with the participation of 33 companies, no organization opposed the 4-day work week.
In the main phase, 2896 employees from 141 companies in Australia, Canada, Ireland, New Zealand, Great Britain, and the USA participated. For 6 months, they worked 32 hours per week instead of 40 hours. To fit the same workload into 4 days, unnecessary meetings were canceled, and calls and messengers were used instead.
On the extra day off, employees often went for medical check-ups they previously didn't have time for due to busy schedules, and dedicated more time to their hobbies and rest. This improved their psychological and physical condition.
