The Azerbaijan Land Transport Agency (AYNA) has no information regarding whether the taxi driver who committed unethical acts against a schoolchild in Baku holds a license. This was stated by the agency in response to an inquiry from anews.az.
According to AYNA, the investigation into the aforementioned matter falls within the jurisdiction of law enforcement agencies.
"Since there is no complete information about the person who committed the incident, it is unknown whether they participated in training on ethical conduct rules for taxi drivers and whether they had a permit for taxi activities," the statement noted.
The incident occurred on October 20 in the Yasamal district of Baku. According to Elshad Hajiyev, head of the Press Service of the Ministry of Internal Affairs (MIA), Emin Oruczade, the driver of a BYD brand car with state registration plate 77-VK-571, was detained and arrested by a relevant decision for committing acts contrary to ethical norms against a student he was taking to tutoring in the Yasamal area.
The Ministry of Internal Affairs' statement disclosed the identity of the person who committed the incident and the state license plate of the car.
However, AYNA states that the driver's identity and whether they possess a license are currently unknown to the agency.
According to the agency's statement, drivers are involved in training based on special preparation programs to enhance their professional level and, as a result of examinations, obtain certificates, thereby gaining the right to carry out passenger transportation.
"Regular measures are taken against drivers who violate passenger transportation rules. As a result of ongoing monitoring and investigations based on citizens' complaints, when a violation is detected, drivers are removed from service," the statement said.
To date, approximately 58,600 people have been involved in training organized by AYNA.
However, since the Azerbaijan Land Transport Agency does not have complete information about the identity of the person who committed the incident, it has not yet been determined whether the driver participated in ethical conduct training.
