Elariz's Son-in-Law Sentenced to 10 Years

The trial of stockbroker Nizami Alishan, accused of defrauding acquaintances of 4 million manats by promising them additional income through an internet platform, has concluded.

According to "Qafqazinfo", the verdict was read out at the final session held at the Baku Court of Grave Crimes.

The panel of judges chaired by Ayten Aliyeva announced that the charge of large-scale fraud against the accused was confirmed in court.

According to the verdict, Nizami Alishan was sentenced to 10 years in prison. In addition, the stockbroker will have to compensate for the financial damage incurred by one of the victims whose money he lost – Babek Mammadzade.

In his final statement, Nizami again mentioned Babek Mammadzade, who is recognized as a victim. He claimed that Babek had earned much more than the money he invested. The stockbroker reminded that Babek's father was also once convicted of large-scale embezzlement, and now his son is presenting himself as a victim and coming after him.

It should be noted that Nizami Alishan was brought to criminal responsibility by the Main Department for Combating Cybercrime of the Ministry of Internal Affairs (MIA).

Those who paid money to earn more and later became complainants include Zeynal Usubov, former deputy prosecutor of Narimanov district, Babek Mammadzade, son of Mahammad Mammadzade, former general director of "Aztelekom" LLC, and another businessman Yadigar Israfilov.

Nizami Alishan is the nephew of Arif Alishanov, former chairman of AzTV, and the son-in-law of singer Elariz.
