Rules for Using Funds Transferred to the Ministry of Internal Affairs Treasury Account Approved

The procedure for using funds transferred to the treasury account of the Ministry of Internal Affairs (MIA) has been approved to strengthen the social protection of police officers and enhance the material and technical base of police bodies.

The editorial office reports that Prime Minister Ali Asadov signed a decree regarding this matter.

According to the rules, a special treasury account will be opened at the State Treasury Agency under the Ministry of Finance for the Ministry to collect funds and use them for their intended purpose.

The transfer of funds and related control will be ensured by the MIA and the Ministry of Finance.

The Ministry of Finance will ensure that funds received each month are transferred to the MIA's special treasury account no later than the 5th of the following month, and for December, by the 25th of that month (if December 26th falls on a non-working day, then on the next working day).

The portion of the funds directed towards strengthening the social protection of police officers will be spent on the following areas:

- Rewarding police officers;

- Providing supplements to the monthly official salaries of police officers;

- Providing financial assistance to police officers.

Funds for strengthening the material and technical base of police bodies will be spent on the following areas:

- Purchase of goods (works and services);

- Construction, major and current repairs of administrative and economic buildings;

- Payment of participation fees for international events;

- Other expenses for strengthening the material and technical base and increasing scientific and technical potential.

The amount of bonuses, financial assistance, and supplements will be determined by the Minister of Internal Affairs of Azerbaijan.

Supplements to monthly official salaries and bonuses are not calculated for days when an employee is on leave due to temporary loss of work capacity, pregnancy and childbirth, on leave at the disposal of the authorities, suspended from duty, on partially paid social leave until the child reaches the age of three, or on unpaid leave until the child reaches the age of four due to caring for a child with a chronic illness based on the opinion of a medical advisory commission, and other unpaid leave in accordance with the Labor Code.
