The Republic of Azerbaijan cooperates effectively with relevant United Nations agencies, including the UN Office on Drugs and Crime (UNODC), in the fight against terrorism, organized crime, and illicit drug trafficking, with the aim of strengthening peace and security.
Within the framework of this cooperation, on January 20-21, a presentation of a newly created digital platform was held in Tashkent, Uzbekistan, organized by the UNODC's Central Asia and South Caucasus Network (CASC), to ensure the rapid exchange of mutual legal assistance requests in criminal matters.

Representatives of the Prosecutor General's Offices of the Network member countries participating in the event familiarized themselves with the platform's technical capabilities, functionality, and data protection mechanisms, and also held discussions on the draft Memorandum outlining the rules for the parties' use of the platform.

The Republic of Azerbaijan was represented at the meeting by Fuad Huseynov, a prosecutor from the Extradition and Legal Assistance Department of the International Legal Cooperation Department, and Kamil Huseynov, head of the Programming Sector of the Criminalistics and Information Technologies Department of the Prosecutor General's Office.
During the event, Fuad Huseynov noted the importance of creating an appropriate legal basis for conducting document circulation and mutual legal assistance mechanisms through the digital platform within the framework of international legal cooperation. The aforementioned proposals were reflected in the draft Memorandum.
