The Azerbaijan Strongman Championship (Strongman) was organized in Baku on March 29–30. In addition to athletes from various cities and regions of the country, employees serving in law enforcement agencies also participated in the competition. The championship, which saw over 100 participants in total, took place in a highly competitive environment.
Rovshan Khalilov also performed successfully in the competition. Rovshan Khalilov, an officer of the Ministry of Emergency Situations' Special Risky Rescue Service, competed in the 80 kg weight category and won two gold medals. He managed to become the strongest athlete in both Strongman and deadlift (lifting weight from the ground) disciplines.
Our 35-year-old athlete, returning to the competition arena after a long break and injuries, drew attention with this success. He is currently determined to continue his competitive career and adequately represent our state in future international arenas.
Based on the results of the championship, winning athletes were selected and will represent Azerbaijan in upcoming international competitions.
This competition made a significant contribution to both the development of strength sports in our country and the further increase of competition among athletes.
