Several More Regular Bus Routes in Azerbaijan Put Up for Tender

Regular bus routes in various directions in Azerbaijan are being put up for tender.

The Editorial Board reports this, citing the Azerbaijan Land Transport Agency (AYNA) under the Ministry of Digital Development and Transport.

According to the information, regular bus routes are being put up for tender in the directions of Baku-Sınıq Körpü (Gazakh border-crossing point), Baku–Ganja, Baku–Zagatala, Baku–Jalilabad, Baku–Astara, Baku–Lankaran, Baku–Khankendi–Lachin, Baku–Imishli, Baku–Aghdash, Baku–Horadiz, Baku–Sabirabad, Sumgayit–Khankendi–Lachin, Mingachevir–Goychay, Barda–Shaki, Ganja–Gazakh, Gazakh–Ganja intercity, Uzuntala village – Zagatala, Urva village – Gusar bus terminal, as well as bus routes numbered 57, 76, 78, 139, 189, and 500 within the capital, with the aim of aligning them with legislative requirements.

The tender is organized in accordance with the Law "On Automobile Transport" and the "Rules for Holding a Tender for the Involvement of Carriers in Regular Passenger Transportation on Intra-city (Intra-district), Intercity (Inter-district) and International Routes by Automobile Transport," approved by Decision No. 52 of the Cabinet of Ministers dated April 3, 2009.

Documents will be accepted until 17:00 on December 20, 2025, at AYNA (address: Baku city, Hacı Məmmədov street 5; contact person: Anar Mammadov (Mob: 050-444-10-75, e-mail: anar.mammadov@ayna.gov.az)).

It should be noted that in addition to the main buses, backup vehicles must also be submitted for the tender.

The commission will review the proposals of applicants on December 22 for 6 lots in the directions of Baku–Sınıq Körpü (Gazakh border-crossing point), Baku–Ganja, Baku–Zagatala, and Baku–Jalilabad; on December 24 for 6 lots in the directions of Baku–Astara, Baku–Lankaran, Baku–Jalilabad, Baku–Khankendi–Lachin, and Baku–Imishli; on December 30 for 6 lots in the directions of Baku–Aghdash, Baku–Horadiz, Baku–Sabirabad, Sumgayit–Khankendi–Lachin, Mingachevir–Goychay, and Barda–Shaki; on January 13 for 4 lots in the directions of Ganja–Gazakh and Gazakh–Ganja; on January 13 for 2 lots for intra-city bus routes numbered 57 (Bakikhanov settlement – C.Hajialiyev street) and 76 (Bakikhanov settlement d/st. – "Neftchilar" m/st.) of the capital; and on January 16 for 6 lots for suburban routes numbered 78 (Bakikhanov settlement, d/st. – Azer Manafov street), 139 ("Koroglu" NMM – Savalan residential complex), 189 ("Koroglu" NMM – Nardaran settlement), and intercity route numbered 500 (Sumgayit city - Baku city), as well as in the directions of Uzuntala village – Zagatala and Urva village – Gusar bus terminal.

It should be noted that the full operation of the Sumgayit–Khankendi–Lachin regular intercity bus routes will be regulated taking into account the condition of the road infrastructure from Shusha city to Lachin district and weather conditions.

Intercity (inter-district) and intra-city (intra-district) route lines are submitted for tender in a phased manner in accordance with legislative requirements. The goal is to increase the quality, safety, and comfort of services provided in the field of passenger transportation.
