The military-political Victory achieved over the enemy during the 44-day Patriotic War, which wrote the brightest pages of our centuries-old history, put an end to our thirty-year longing for the homeland. This historic Victory also demonstrated the strength and power of modern Azerbaijan to the world. Azerbaijan, which conducted the most modern military operations of the era, amazed the world once again by launching another large-scale initiative in a short period. Thus, shortly after the war, a rapid restoration and reconstruction process was launched in our ancient and eternal lands, which had been subjected to terrible vandalism and savagery by Armenians. The “Great Return” concept was adopted, and the creation of all necessary social and infrastructure areas in this direction began. For this purpose, in our territories that had fallen into decline for nearly 30 years, used only for hateful, ugly intentions, and plundered, new roads and communication lines began to be laid, smart village and city projects were implemented, schools and hospitals were built, and power plants were established. It should be noted that this process continues to be implemented consistently and rapidly today.
In short, our state is carrying out the necessary work for the rapid revival and development of the region. Most importantly, the work being done, the restoration and reconstruction process, is carried out not through foreign grants and aid, but solely through internal capabilities. Today, one of our districts distinguished by its bright development is Lachin. Lachin, located in a strategically important position, suffered serious destruction during the years of occupation. Official Yerevan committed another crime in Lachin during the occupation. Namely, the resettlement of ethnic Armenians living in foreign countries here was part of their vile intentions. However, time showed that truth and justice would one day prevail. Our ancient lands, which once groaned under enemy occupation, are now free.
The historic Order of Victorious Supreme Commander-in-Chief Mr. Ilham Aliyev on July 31, 2023, regarding the establishment of City Days for the liberated territories, serves great purposes. According to the Order, August 26 has been established as Lachin City Day. For the third year now, Lachin City Day is solemnly celebrated. Today, everyone who loves their homeland rejoices in the successes of our State.
