AQC Scientific-Methodological Council Holds Next Meeting

The next meeting of the Scientific-Methodological Council of the Azerbaijan Appraisers Society (AQC) has been held. The meeting, which took place online via the “Zoom” platform, focused on strengthening the scientific and theoretical basis of the appraisal sector and issues of personnel training.

Vugar Oruj, Chairman of the AQC Board and President of the Council of Appraisers Associations of Turkic States (CAATS), opened the meeting with an introductory speech, discussing the priority tasks facing the Society. The Chairman stated that the publication of the “Appraisal and Economics” journal, established for the purpose of regulating professional activity on a scientific basis, holds historical significance for the sector. A broad exchange of views took place regarding the preparation process of the journal's first issue, the composition of the editorial board, and the topics it will cover. V. Oruj emphasized that this publication will serve as both a methodological resource for local specialists and a platform for the transfer of international experience to our country.

Another important item on the agenda was the discussion of the official appeal from the State Examination Center (DİM) to the AQC. DİM requested AQC's opinions and suggestions for improving the examination programs for the certification of appraisers.

Ibrahim Guliyev, Chairman of the Scientific-Methodological Council, Deputy Chairman of AQC, Associate Professor at Azerbaijan State University of Economics, and Doctor of Philosophy in Economics, spoke on the topic, emphasizing the importance of methodological accuracy in examination programs. The Council thoroughly analyzed the examination questions and program framework, and relevant instructions were given to council members regarding the preparation of amendments in accordance with modern international standards and the requirements of local legislation.

Speaking at the meeting were Asiman Guliyev, Candidate of Economic Sciences, Honored Teacher of the Republic of Azerbaijan, Associate Professor at the Department of Economics and Management of the International Master's and Doctoral Center of Azerbaijan State University of Economics; Rasmiyya Sabir, Head of Department at the Institute of Economics of the Ministry of Science and Education, Doctor of Economic Sciences, Professor; Vusala Nagiyeva, Head of Department at Baku Eurasian University, Doctor of Philosophy in Economics, Associate Professor; Parvin Verdiyeva, Associate Professor at Baku Eurasian University, Doctor of Philosophy in Economics; and Asif Ibrahimov, Advisor to the AQC Chairman, Specialist in International Management Systems. They put forward proposals regarding the journal's structure and the examination program.

In conclusion, it was stated that working groups will be established for both directions, and final opinions will be submitted to both the editorial board and the State Examination Center within a short period.
