Alpaqut Turan Martial Art Azerbaijan Cup Concludes

On April 4, 2026, the Alpaqut Turan Martial Art Azerbaijan Cup was held at the Gazakh Olympic Complex, supported by the Ministry of Youth and Sports of Azerbaijan and the Azerbaijan National Sports Types Association, and organized by the Azerbaijan Representation of the World Alpaqut Federation.

28 teams from various regions of the country, totaling 304 athletes, participated in the competition. Athletes demonstrated their skills in the Ayça, Batur, Caymaz, Qurşaq, and Kaçut systems of Alpaqut Martial Art.

The purpose of the Cup is to ensure the development of Alpaqut, a national martial art, across the country, to increase the role of this sport in the physical and moral education of youth, and to strengthen preparation for international competitions.
The opening ceremony was attended by Ali Mammadovzadeh, representative of the Ministry of Youth and Sports, Aziz Masmaliyev, head of the Gazakh-Tovuz Regional Youth and Sports Department, and Rafiq Gasimov, vice-president of the Azerbaijan Alpaqut Federation.
The official guests who spoke wished success to the competition participants and emphasized that such competitions play an important role in fostering patriotism among youth, enhancing their physical readiness, and developing national sports.
It was stated that the main goal of holding the competition is to promote a healthy lifestyle among young people, develop the Alpaqut sport, and increase interest in sports in the regions.

The artistic part of the competition made a special impression on the audience. Elshan Mammadov, a teacher from the Surakhani branch, and his students gave an exemplary performance in the Kaçut system, visually presenting the philosophy and technical skills of this system.
