A new statement has been released by the United States Department of State regarding the ongoing situation. The statement notes that US diplomatic missions worldwide are currently being targeted, and partial airspace closures may cause travel delays.
The Redaksiya reports that a warning has been issued about "Iran-linked groups potentially targeting locations associated with Americans worldwide." US citizens living abroad have been advised to follow current security announcements issued by their nearest US Embassy or Consulate.
The statement urged all US citizens, particularly those in the Middle East, to "exercise increased caution." On February 28th, as negotiations between Iran and the US continued, Israel and the US launched military operations against Tehran. Iran, in response, attacked targets it identified in Israel, as well as in some regional countries where US military bases are located, such as Qatar, the United Arab Emirates (UAE), and Bahrain. Iranian leader Ali Khamenei, along with many high-ranking officials, were killed in the US-Israeli attacks.
