"2,344 People Arrested for Alimony Non-Payment"

"In 2025, there were 141,000 alimony cases under execution. However, the rate of non-enforcement of alimony cases is low."

"Qafqazinfo" reports that Deputy Minister of Justice Togrul Huseynov stated this at a public hearing held at the Milli Majlis.

"Difficulties in enforcing alimony cases are sometimes related to the lack of certain funds, jobs, and individuals frequently changing their place of residence or employment. In 2025, administrative offense protocols were drawn up against 4,299 debtors who evaded alimony payments.

Administrative penalties were applied by courts in 3,083 of these protocols. 2,344 individuals were administratively arrested, and certain criminal legal measures were taken against individuals evading alimony payments. In this regard, 286 submissions for criminal prosecution were made, and criminal cases were initiated based on 235 submissions," the deputy minister noted.
