The “Military Sleep Method,” developed by the U.S. Navy to help pilots fall asleep quickly, can help people fall asleep in a shorter amount of time.
According to research, sleep deprivation significantly reduces productivity. A 2018 study showed that people who slept 5-6 hours a night were 19% less productive than those who slept 7-8 hours. Sleeping less than 5 hours reduces productivity by approximately 30%. Furthermore, lack of sleep weakens attention and problem-solving abilities.
The book “Relax and Win: Championship Performance,” published in 2012, notes that after applying this method for six weeks, 96% of pilots could fall asleep in less than two minutes.
The main steps of the method include fully relaxing facial muscles, releasing shoulders and arms, relaxing the chest by taking deep breaths, and also calming the mind by imagining a peaceful scene.
According to experts, regularly practicing this technique can help the body relax faster and fall asleep.
