In the context of global political events, new steps are being taken towards cooperation and conflict resolution among leaders of various countries and international organizations. Among these news items, the Gaza Peace Council, planned to be established on the initiative of former US President Donald Trump, is attracting particular attention.
Redaksiya reports that various aspects related to the establishment and functioning of this council have come to the agenda. According to the information, decisions within the council are intended to be made by majority vote. Each member state will have one vote, but it is stated that all decisions will require the approval of the council chairman. It is noted that the council's charter describes this organization as an "international organization working to ensure stability in regions affected by or at risk of conflict, to restore reliable and legitimate governance, and to ensure lasting peace.".
Previously, the "Bloomberg" agency, citing the draft charter of the Gaza Peace Council, wrote that former US President Donald Trump demanded payments of at least $1 billion from countries wishing to obtain a permanent seat on the council. It is noted that Trump will be the first chairman of the council and will personally decide who will be invited. Belarusian President Alexander Lukashenko has announced that he has signed the document regarding his country's joining this council. According to him, there was no need to pay one billion dollars for this process.
Lukashenko also added that Belarus would not be able to provide significant aid to the Gaza Strip, but would "help other countries." Belarusian Ministry of Foreign Affairs spokesperson Ruslan Varankov stated that Lukashenko received an invitation on behalf of Trump. He noted that Minsk is ready to join the Peace Council. Lukashenko also confirmed that Belarus would not make any payments for membership in the Gaza Peace Council. In his statement to journalists, Lukashenko said, "I signed the relevant appeal stating our readiness to accept this proposal from the US and to be a participant in this Council.".
