Ukraine's victory is the only factor that can make this reactor operable again by Ukraine. Overall, Ukraine's electricity grid must be stabilized again. This is also important for other operational nuclear power plants in Ukraine: Rivne, Khmelnytskyi, and South Ukraine.

Redaksiya reports that Jan Vande Putte, a leading expert on radiation safety and nuclear energy specialist at "Greenpeace Ukraine," stated in an interview with UNIAN that Russia could repair the damaged power line supplying the Zaporizhzhia NPP within a maximum of two days, regardless of the circumstances.

Speaking about the possibility of connecting the ZNPP to the Russian energy system and starting its operation under the control of the Russian Federation, Jan Vande Putte noted that this should not happen under any circumstances. This is because the Russians do not know how to manage the plant and could cause a nuclear disaster. At the same time, experts emphasize that despite the plant remaining without external power for a long time, the risk of a radiation accident remains minimal, and they add that the Russian Federation is trying to power the plant from its own energy system.

The expert noted that Russia is lying by blaming Ukraine for damaging the power lines. According to him, this is a deliberate act of sabotage by the Russians with the aim of reconnecting the ZNPP to their own energy system (and this is confirmed by satellite images). At the same time, a day earlier, Aleksey Likhachev, head of Russia's "Rosatom" company, spoke about the possibility of suspending military operations for the repair of two damaged lines that supplied power to the ZNPP from the Ukrainian energy system.

"This means that Russia can repair this line within a few hours, maybe a day, maybe a maximum of two days. It's as if they have a key in their hands," Jan Vande Putte noted. He added that "the loss of power did not occur as a result of shelling by Ukraine, as Russia claims. We can prove that all of this is disinformation and sabotage."

"No restoration of the nuclear reactor under Russia's control! This is the number one priority. Russia must leave Ukraine," he added. The expert believes that despite this, the damages are not significant, and the occupiers could quickly eliminate them if they wished.
